The budget ax has fallen – AGAIN – and Chippewa Valley Schools will be impacted!
Our children’s teachers have just been notified that their classroom budgets will be slashed by at least 20% next year. The state’s education funding crisis has finally crept right into the classroom.
This DIRECTLY affects YOUR child!!!
This district is facing the challenges of a rapidly expanding population. Couple those challenges with the need to continuously improve the curriculum to meet the demands of changing demographics. When we receive the lowest funding of any district in Macomb County, these challenges become gigantic hurdles. Further budget cuts make successfully overcoming the obstacles almost impossible.
The district must band together in a unified voice and express to our elected officials our disgust and dissatisfaction with the continued budget cuts in education. Michigan’s Legislature MUST make our children’s education a top priority. They MUST be reminded that when we go to the polls to vote, we will support those representatives who listened to our voices and supported our children.

Budget decisions are currently being made in the legislature. While we certainly encourage you to contact both Governor Granholm and your state Senators, we need to contact our representatives in the House now as this issue is currently being discussed.
